The Eco-Friendly Liquid Applied PMMA Membrane Solution

Creating functional eco-friendly roofscapes often involve integration of many green roof technologies including cool roofing systems, solar photovoltaic panels, hardscape and vegetated landscape.  ALT cold liquid-applied PMMA membranes are up to the challenge. ALT systems are flexible, seamless, inherently root and rot resistant monolithic waterproofing membranes.  In addition, ALT membranes bond directly to the substrate, eliminating the need for caulked terminations and pitch boxes, thereby providing a virtually maintenance free system. 



Extensive green roof systems are relatively shallow and lightweight, ranging in depth from approximately 3/4-inch (2-cm) to 5-inches (13-cm) in depth. These systems require hardy plants, eliminating need for irrigation, and require minimal maintenance. Extensive systems help reduce the environmental impact of a roof by providing an aesthetically pleasing roofscape, lowering urban heat island effects, and mitigating stormwater run-off.


Intensive green roof systems utilize deeper planting media, ranging in depths from 5-inches (13-cm) or more, required to support a wide variety of plants, shrubs and trees. Intensive systems require regular irrigiation and maintenance, but when the building structure can support the required loads, intensive green roof systems can be used to create true roof gardens, landscapes, and rooftop recreational facilities.


On larger projects, extensive and intensive green roofing applications as well as planters can be incorporated into the design depending on the desired need or use.
